Within 48 hours after checkout, email commissions@amyraehill.com with your top 3 ideas for design. I always do my best to accept your first design choice but it is important to provide clear back-up options. If you only submit one idea, I cannot guarantee your commission will be accepted and if we cannot come to an agreement on design, your order will be refunded. If you don’t have a strong preference on ideas, we can discuss what would work best or you can let me know if it’s artist’s choice!

When formulating your ideas, try to think of the most important elements even if they seem obvious. Want your nebula more blue than purple? As many stars as I can manage? The fired arts can be full of fun surprises so it’s good to keep an open mind, however, if I’m aware of the essential elements in your design I can focus on controlling those. After your piece is fired changes cannot be made, so be sure to communicate anything vital to your project in the beginning.

*Important Design Notes

-One design allowed per item. For example, I won’t be able to paint a moonscape on one side and a nebula on the other.
-Teapots, mugs or any round item: the main design will be featured on one side. The back will fade to a black starscape or something similarly minimal.
-Background stars are random. They are crystals mixed into a black glaze that become visible when fired. I cannot always predict where or how many will appear, however, I can dilute the mixture if you’d prefer fewer stars.
-Items with handles: the design will be painted on the side where the handle is on the right, unless otherwise specified.
-JWST has captured some stunning images that are highly detailed. If your commission is inspired by one of those images, the level of detail and style of your piece will remain consistent with my previous work.
-I have been trying to find the perfect pink glaze, but for now pink is a challenging and unpredictable color. Salmon is the closest I can do!
-Due to its complexity, I cannot offer the Orion Nebula.


Care Instructions:

Earthenware pottery is delicate low-fire ceramic. Dishwasher safe, but I recommend hand-washing to keep in space-tastic shape. :)
